Youth 10 years of age and older, adults included, will get an opportunity to try rock painting with Janie Hack’s help on Thursday, June 11 at Decorah Public Library, from 3:30-5:30.
A rock with a dragon on it (or a snake or a turtle or a fawn) is still a rock, just one with an imagination. That’s why Janie Hack likes to paint them so much. Youth 10 years of age and older, adults included, will get an opportunity to try rock painting with Janie’s help on Thursday, June 11 at Decorah Public Library, from 3:30-5:30.
The free session is part of the library’s summer program, “Express Yourself @ Your Library,” which runs from June 8 through July 20. The schedule features opportunities to explore several different creative projects with local artists or library staff. Books relating to the project themes will be available for browsing and check out.
Details about the various sessions, which take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 3-5pm (all except for one on Wednesday July 1), are available at the library, at the Decorah Park and Rec office and on the library’s website: www.decorah.lib.ia.us. Questions can also be directed to Heidi Swets at 382-3717.
Funding for this programming is provided in part from Deco Products, the Depot Outlet and Friends of Decorah Public Library.
