Decorah Public Library will host “Folk Dancing with Pine Wilson” Thursday, June 18 at 10:15 to 11:15.
Decorah Public Library will host “Folk Dancing with Pine Wilson” Thursday, June 18 at 10:15 to 11:15 in the mezzanine as part of the children’s summer reading program, “Be Creative @ Your Library.” Pine will be teaching traditional Eastern European folk dances to area children aged 6 to 10 years. Half the group will learn the dance while the other half is being creative with boxes. The groups will then switch so that everyone has a chance to do both activities.
Pine Wilson, classically trained on the piano, plays the ethnic accordion. Along with teaching folk dancing, Pine plays with Luther College’s Balalaika ensemble and is a former member of the Western Home String Band.
