Decorah Public Library will host "Fishy Things" with Tom Murray and friends as part of the children's summer reading program, "Make a Splash- Read!" Murray will be in the library mezzanine Thursday July 15 from 10:30-11:15 a.m. to talk "fish" with ages 6-10 years. An avid fisherman, Murray will share fishing stories, talk about why the color green should be worn instead of white when fishing, and the catch and release program.
"Make a Splash-Read!" is a 6 week long children's summer reading program for ages 3-10 years. Children are encouraged to read 15 hours to receive their rewards of a free library t-shirt courtesy of the Friends of Decorah Public Library and free coupons from area businesses. Entertainers, reading programs and activities are scheduled each week for area children and their families, along with a kids' talent show and a library carnival. Questions regarding the children's summer reading program, "Make a Splash-Read!" should be directed to Sally Stromseth by calling the library at 563-382-3717.
