Learn how to become a traveler in your own backyard and discover the secrets of how photographers see the world at 2 p.m. Tuesday April 12 at Decorah Public Library. Local photographer Randy Uhl will present a fun, fast-paced slideshow that includes over 100 of his own photos.
Sit back and enjoy an entertaining, engaging series of photos that is designed to reveal how photographers make use of light, patterns, and colors to make their photos more interesting. See how little differences like choosing the proper angle, eliminating unnecessary elements, and finding intriguing patterns in photo subjects can change the quality of your photographs.
The presentation begins with local places and events that have the feel of “travel photography.” The local scenes then transition to travel pictures ranging from Maui to Morocco to Arizona to Alaska. Whether you’re looking for a bit of armchair travel, trip destination ideas for a summer vacation, or tips on how to become a better photographer, you won’t be disappointed.
Presenter Randy Uhl works outside of photography today but his interest has never waned from the early days of working as a reporter-photographer in Florida, California, western Iowa, and locally, at Decorah Newspapers.
