Capacity Building Activities for small non-profit agencies
- Volunteers serve on advisory boards, help with clerical activities and other tasks designed to build the capacity of small non-profits.

Cultural Heritage
- Volunteers serve at museums as well as the Decorah Genealogical and Winneshiek County Historical Society preserving history for future generations.

Delivering Meals to the Homebound
- Volunteers deliver meals prepared by NorthLand Area Agency on Aging to individuals who are confined to their home.

Disaster Preparation & Assistance
- Volunteers assist in various ways to ensure that their community is prepared for a disaster and to assist at disaster sites.

Food Pantry Assistant
- Volunteers distribute food to the needy.

Income Tax Filing Assistance
- Volunteers assist low income and elderly to file their Federal and State income tax returns.

Library Assistance
- Volunteers assist with programs at the library by providing story hours or helping with summer reading programs. They also lead adult programs and make it possible for the visually impaired in smaller communities across Iowa to have large print books and books on tape to read.

Northeast Iowa Food & Fitness Coalition
- In April of 2007, the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative received a grant of $500,000 from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to help communities embrace active living and healthy eating.

Nursing Homes
- RSVP Volunteers are an important part of the day in the lives of nursing home residents. They spend time visiting with residents, playing cards, bingo or other games, reading to the residents, engaging them in craft activities and taking them for a walk.

Pre-school, Child Care and Head Start Centers
- Volunteers provide story hours and other early reading activities at pre-schools and Head Start classrooms.

Schools
- Volunteers are engaging students in one on one activities in reading and math and other skill areas. They are also serving as teacher assistants to prepare the classroom and materials for positive learning experiences.

Seniors Against Investment Fraud
- Volunteers trained in the Seniors Against Investment Fraud program provide presentations to community and civic groups.
