Decorah Community Food PantryDecorah Community Food pantry is looking for people in a few different roles.  They are looking for individuals who are interested in opening the pantry – turning on lights, unlocking doors, setting up check-in desk, etc.  This would be from 12-1:30 and the biggest need is for Wednesdays and Thursdays.  They also have need for help on Tuesday mornings, either 9:15-10:30 or 10:30-12:30 helping with the truck.  This would require lifting.  They also have need for Spanish speaking volunteers Thursday nights specifically but other times would be welcome!
Decorah VA ClinicI am gathering names of people who may be interested in hopes they will be able to send a person to Decorah to complete the fingerprints.  Currently, interested volunteers have to travel to Iowa City to the VA to be fingerprinted.  Volunteers work from either 8-11 or 9-11 greeting people who have appointments.  They can help them to get registered and visit with them as they wait for their appointment.  They may also be interested in afternoon greeters, however, right now we struggle to cover mornings.  Tuesdays and Thursdays are busier since they have an optometrist and audiologist on those days.
Nisse Meal DeliveryStarting in September.  This will entail picking up the meals from the hospital at 11:40 and delivering them to Nisse.  Currently there are volunteers who do this one day a week each week (every Thursday for example) and it seems to work great for scheduling.  I believe we have four days available for this starting in the fall.  If you are interested in going along to see what it entails, let me know as they are delivering a few days in June.
